The great interior of the Northern Territory, north of Alice Springs, with many large cattle stations, majestic ranges, gold mines and the enormous Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater.
SIMPSON DESERT
Also known to the traditional custodians as Mungathirri, a dune field interspersed with gibber plains, thermal springs, broken dreams and oil exploration tracks. Camels are plentiful and after rain it bogs down for weeks, then blooms with glory. Central Simpson. North East Simpson. West Simpson
